Scrapbook Update

My uncle asked me to scrapbook a lifetime of pictures as a gift to his children. This has been a somewhat daunting task, but it has been even more fun than I expected. First of all, I like doing this sort of thing! Secondly, I feel like I was transported back in time to ponder the specialness of our family, both those who have gone on and those of us who are still plugging away raising our own families. My aunt passed away a few years ago and I cannot believe how healing this process has been in grieving her. The memories are many.

Anyway, this is what my cousins will be receiving for Christmas this year. I only have a little done, so many more pictures to do! I focused on the "older" pictures first (my uncle and aunt's wedding, the grandparents, etc.) The other pages will be gifts throughout the year as I get them done (Valentine's Day, birthdays, Easter, Veteren's Day, whatever I can think of!) Hope you enjoy looking at them:

Anniversary Card

I made this card for my husband's aunt and uncle's 50th Anniversary in October. I then proceeded to forget to sign one of my kids' names! Aunt MaryAnn said she send it to me to add so she can keep it in her memory book (and not forget about one of my kids :).

Wedding Invitations

My nephew, Curt, is marrying a wonderful young woman (whom he totally deserves, I might add) in January. I made these invitations for them and they are mailing them to friends and family today. They were a labor of love, but I am very pleased with the results. I'll also post the matching thank you notes when I get them done. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Frames for the Hall kids

I made 11 frame-a-names for my nieces/nephews on the Hall side (everybody's birthday, some late, some early, some right on time). However, I forgot to take pictures of them to show you. So, just take my word for it - they are adorable. Maybe my sweet sisters-in-law will send me pictures and then I can post. Until then, we are back from vacation and you'll be hearing from me more often!

This uses "Elegant Notes" stamp set, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate inks and papers, Ginger Blossom Designer Series Paper, Hodgepodge Hardware, and Double stitched ribbon, brads, rhinestones, and so on.

"The never ending love story"

Oh, more aptly called, "the never ending wedding scrapbook". I have been working on this thing for YEARS and hope to have it done by our 50th anniversary (that gives me less than 42 years - panic now!!!) Here are a few pages I love, though. As you can tell, I am easing my way through the reception.

Altered Clipboard

I made this for my niece, Hannah, for her 7th birthday. Okay, this was back in December and I am just now getting around to sharing it! So here's my sob story and excuse why (read about our spring "fun" here: and after that, we were so exhausted and done being over-extended, that we just gave up everything this summer. Needless to say, my other three little nieces haven't gotten their birthday presents yet (ahhhh, the guilt is overwhelming!!) and my big nieces/nephews didn't even get cards this year. Oh, well. After a great long summer off, I am please to get back in the game. So, here is Hannah's clipboard:

Always Time for You

I cased this from someone, but I cannot remember who - sorry!

Mikayla (my 13 year old daughter) and I each made one. It was before the new long scallop punch came out and all those scallops were rather tedious with the corner rounder! I love how it came out, though and now that I DO have my new long scallop punch, I may be making more of these?!

This card uses the "Always Time for You" stamp set from the Occassions Mini 2008, which incidently, I won at regionals!! I was sooooo sick with pneumonia, but my precious upline, Wendy, was sweet enough to drag me all the way to Tulsa and prop me up in a chair. Imagine my surprise when my name popped up on the screen! Anyway, it's a darling set and I'll try to post some of my other creations using it soon. The paper is from the Designer Series Prints Pack (Level 1 Hostess Spring/Summer 2008)

Rub-on Fun!

I finally got around to trying my rub-ons! These are fun and sort of addicting...my kids really got a kick out of making some cards, as well. Here are a few of mine. I really love the black/white one.

Elegant Notes

I am a musician, so the "Elegant Notes" stamp set is one of my favorites. This is a birthday gift for our church's choir director (and my friend, Carolyn - Happy Birthday today!!) The card is cased from Lauraly on Splitcoast Stampers.

Frame-A-Name again

I just love these Frame-A-Names and can't seem to stop making them, especially as a special, cost-effective birthday gift for friends. Everyone seems to really enjoy them and my kids are being invited to more and more birthday parties every week?!

I am the Great Aunt!

My nieces and nephews are so kind to me (and the rest of the world) by continually expanding my Great Aunt-ness (is that a word?). My niece Kristin and her fiancee Tim are expecting a baby boy this fall! You may have seen them on "Can You Duet" - they were the best, of course, but didn't win. There is a link on the sidebar so you can go and watch them - they are both amazing musicians and wonderful people. Ahem, sorry I am bragging!

The baby shower is in Chicago, I am in Oklahoma. So my shower duty is to make the invitations. Here is a sample:

More Frame Fun

Most of these Frame-a-Name's were for little ones in my family for Christmas. I didn't get pictures of them all, but here is a selection. Each child's matched their room. I think the parents liked them more than the kids, but oh well! There are a few other framed items here as well.

Altered Composition Journals

I just love how these came out - almost everyone I know got one for Christmas!

Oh where oh where has your demonstrator gone?

I'm here! I'm here! My blog has been severely neglected and I apologize for that. Does it help to know I've been a creating machine through the Christmas holiday? My goal for 2008 (now that it is nearly 1/12th over) is to do better about posting updates here. So don't give up!
